Pratiquant la photographie depuis l’adolescence, j’ai fréquenté l’école de Vevey, avant de travailler pour un studio professionnel. L’argentique dominait. Patiente et minutieuse, ma tâche consistait à photographier des montres et des bijoux. L’arrivée du numérique ayant profondément modifié les pratiques, j’ai quitté le milieu professionnel tout en continuant à prendre des photos. Sans projet précis au départ, j’ai accumulé au fil du temps des images pour constituer peu à peu une sorte de répertoire iconographique personnel. Fonctionnant comme des notes, ces images sont réalisées avec du matériel divers, au gré des événements. N’ayant pas de finalité en elle-même, cette masse iconographique est destinée à une expansion infinie.
I’ve been taking photographs since I was a teenager, and went to school in Vevey before working for a professional studio. Silver was the dominant medium. Patient and meticulous, my task was to photograph watches and jewelry. The arrival of digital technology profoundly changed the way things were done, and I left the professional world while continuing to take photos. Without any specific project at the outset, I accumulated images over time to gradually build up a sort of personal iconographic repertoire. Functioning like notes, these images are taken with a variety of materials, as events dictate. With no purpose in itself, this iconographic mass is destined for infinite expansion.
